Swimming provides a fantastic opportunity to exercise with a reduced level of impact on your body.
Many studies recommend swimming as the best water workout for people of all age groups. Generally, swimming serves as an aerobic, cardiovascular exercise similar to running or cycling. Resistance from water is the main reason that many fitness experts suggest swimming as a workout to improve your body’s muscle tone.
By performing the repetitive movements associated with swimming, you can really improve, enhance and develop the flexibility of your joints, hips, and shoulders.
My review
It was one of my first books on swimming. It was cheap, so I brought it at that time. But there are some problems with this book. How about seeing some.
- There is no section about the author. Thus we can not know his background and history with swimming. So who is he? I searched on WEB a little and did not find anything easily.
- There is no reference section or footnotes with information about some statements. In the following example, it would be interesting to cite where found these data:
Studies show that a 150-pound woman can burn out about 475 to 750 calories an hour by swimming, whereas walking can burn only 270 calories from the body during the same time interval.
- There are broken links on complementary content. In some sections, the author suggests visiting a site to see the entire movement of a swimming style. But there is no site anymore.
- Too little pages and content. The book has only 38 pages. The text is so summarized, and details are missing.
- Few workouts. There are only ten workouts on the book. There is no progression plan or orientation about future exercises. With this number of practice sessions is impossible to do a good job.
Therefore, I do not recommend buying this book.
